This care home in Davenport has been given a full exterior upgrade with the installation of 29 Kommerling windows and a Rockdoor composite door, replacing original timber frames that were no longer performing as they should.

Over time, the existing wooden windows had become rotten and draughty, allowing heat to escape and making the building harder to keep warm. For a care home environment, this created ongoing issues with comfort and efficiency.

To resolve this, we installed new Kommerling UPVC windows, finished white internally and externally. The aim was to improve performance while keeping the appearance consistent with other UPVC windows on the property that didn’t require replacement.

The new windows provide a clean, uniform look across the building while significantly improving insulation. Internally, the difference is immediate – reduced draughts and a more stable temperature throughout.

The entrance was also upgraded with a Rockdoor composite door, replacing an old timber door that had become worn and outdated. The new door offers a more secure and durable solution, while also improving the overall appearance of the entrance.

As part of the installation, we also recreated the original stained glass ship design within one of the new windows. This allowed the building to retain a distinctive feature while still benefiting from modern materials and performance.

The result is a property that feels more consistent, more efficient, and far better suited to the demands of a busy care home, with materials designed to last and require minimal maintenance.
